Bu araştırma ile kurum bakımı deneyimi olan bireylerin iş ve yaşam doyumlarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma 2012 Ekim-2013 Aralık ayları arasında Ankara’da, kurum bakımı deneyimi olan 82 kişi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçları genel olarak şöyledir: Araştırmaya katılanların %83’ü 19-34 yaş arası bireylerden oluşmaktadır, katılımcıların %31,7’si kadın, %68,3’ü erkek ve %40,2’si evlidir. Katılımcıların kurum (iş yeri) değişikliği sayılarına bakıldığında, 4-7 arasında kurum değişikliği yapanların, 1-3 arasında kurum değişikliği yapan katılımcılara göre yaşam doyumlarının daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Katılımcılardan bir çocuk sahibi olanların ise iş doyumlarının ve dışsal doyumlarının yüksek olduğu, çocuk sahibi olmayanların ise iş doyumları ile dışsal doyumlarının düşük olduğu görülmüştür. Ekonomik durumunu yüksek olarak belirten katılımcıların, iş ve yaşam doyumu alt ölçeklerinden aldıkları puan, ekonomik durumu düşük olan katılımcıların iş ve yaşam doyumundan aldıkları puanlarından daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır.

The sample of the study consisted of 50 volunteer council members (doctors, social workers, lawyers, nurses, and other staff, etc.) in Istanbul. It utilized the “General Scanning Method” and the findings were analyzed by SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) program. The basic findings in this research are the following: Most of the council members who were interviewed were married middle-aged men with a university degree. Over the half of the members indicated that they were not informed about the “Patient Right Act in Health Institutions”. Only 24 % of the Patient Council Members who were interviewed, directly mentioned notions like “humane life, human rights and dignity” in their definitions of “patient rights”.

Erkeklerin yarısının evli olduğu (yüzde 51,8), yaklaşık yarısının çocuk sahibi olduğu(yüzde 49,0), çoğunluğunun (yüzde 67,6) bir işte çalışmakta olduğu, büyük bir çoğunluğunun da (yüzde77,4) lise ve üzerinde bir eğitim düzeyine sahip olduğu bulunmuştur. Erkeklerin en yüksek ortalama puanı Eşitlikçi Cinsiyet Rolü Alt Ölçeğinden(Ort:3,81), en düşük ortalama puanı ise Evlilikte Cinsiyet Rolü Alt Ölçeğinden aldıkları(Ort:2,28) görülmüştür.

THE MALE PERSPECTIVE ON GENDER ROLES: THE VALUE OF BEING A MALE OR A FEMALE
ABSTRACT
This research was conducted to measure and evaluate Turkish men’s attitudes toward gender roles. The sample consisted of 780 men between 18-65 ages living in Ankara. In this research general scanning model was used as a method and demographic information form and Gender Roles Attitude Scale, which was developed by Zeyneloğlu and Terzioğlu (2011) was used. This scale consists of Egalitarian Gender Roles, Female Gender Roles, Marriage Gender Roles, Traditional Gender Roles and Male Gender Roles subscales. About half of the men (46.8%) was between ages of 26-45. A half of the participants was married(51.8%), about a half had children (49.0%) most of them (67.6%) had a job and the majority (77.4%) had high school education and higher degrees. According to the demographic variables and the subscale scores there were many statistically significant results. It was seen that men got the highest mean score from the Egalitarian Gender Role Subscale and they got the lowest mean score from the Marriage Gender Role Subscale.

Depending on the social change process of the world accompanying to increase in the variety of social problems, the practical areas of social work are getting increased as well as in Turkey. One of the most important practice field of social work profession is clinical social work. Clinical social work was firstly described and developed in USA (United States of America). Since 1976 clinical social workers’ have been registered by NASW (National Association of Social Workers) and they are allowed to work as private practicer in USA. Although we have the social workers who work in clinical areas in our country, countrywide descriptions and licences for practising need to be defined by the laws/ legislations. In this article, the clinical social work field/ branch, will be examined within the scope its development, its definitions, uniqueness and practical paradigms and the required processes for development of clinical social work field will be explained with the future projection.

Abstract: In this study, an evaluation was made of 14 questionnaires completed by selected outgoing staff (retired, resigned, assigned to another institution or discharged, etc.) of Hacettepe University Beytepe Hospital. Industrial social work is a sub-fields of the social work profession which deals with the welfare and productivity of employees. In this context, managing industrial institutions with a humanistic view is supported by the practice of industrial social work. Method: The forms were examined through the qualitative research method of document analysis. Common issues were identified and the most relevant themes were included. Findings: The 14 participants comprised 5 males and 9 females, of whom, 4 were physicians, 1 a medical professor, 3 dentists, 2 psychologists and the remaing participants were from different professions. The majority of the participants had work experience at a hospital for at least 10 years or more. Three common themes were identified as “participant’s positive thoughts towards the institution”, “participant’s negative thoughts towards the institution” and “participant’s suggestions”. Conclusion and Recommendations: As a result of the document analysis, it was seen that all the participants reported both positive/ negative thoughts and suggestions on the related questions from the perspective of industrial social work, it is important to pay attention to the employees’ negative statements and thoughts in order to initiate remedial and preventive procedures both for the wellbeing of employees and for the productivity of the institution. The researchers suggested the following improvements: “organization of small group meetings by the hospital administration in each working unit”, “negotiations between managers and employees on the current working conditions and their improvement”, “organization of social activities for employees”, “placement of suggestion boxes in the hospital”, “the provision of psycho-social counselling for employees”, “improvement of staff salaries within the bounds of possibility.”

Abstract: The elderly population rate in Turkey was 7.7% in 2013, 8.3% in 2016 and it is estimated to rise to 10.2% in 2023, 20.8% in 2050 and 27.7% in 2075 (TURKStat, 2013). These projections show that elderly care and home care for the elderly will be increasingly significant issues during the coming decades. In this research, an examination was made of the current state of the service capacity for elderly care and it was
determined that there are 30,000 geriatrics aged >60 years living in public and private nursing homes in Turkey. Of the whole nursing home population, 47% reside in public institutions and 53% in private care homes. In general, there is a greater care burden in lower socio-economic populations than in those at a higher level. In Turkey, the Ministry of Family and Social Policies pays approximately 250 USD (932 TL equivalent in 2016) per month to the caregivers of elderly people in need of care. Countrywide, approximately 481,000 caregivers benefit from this payment (Ministry of Family and Social Policies Operating Report, 2016). Turkish Municipal authorities also have recently started to pay more attention to social work services, particularly elderly care
services. In a similar manner, the Ministry of Health also provides medical care to disabled and elderly patients in their own home. In Turkey approximately 30,000 people benefit from residential care. There are a total of 127 state nursing homes and 227 private residential care institutions. The issue of irregular migration in Turkey is gaining an increasingly important dimension. In the context of irregular migration, it is known that many foreigners use Turkey as a target or transit country for economic and political reasons. Only in 2016, 174,466 irregular migrants were apprehended in various regions of Turkey. This number has been increasing, especially in recent years. The current irregular migration movements in Turkey affect not only Turkey but also the European countries around it. In 2014, 280 thousand people illegally reached Europe by sea and land. In 2015, this number increased to 1,046,600. It is known that irregular migration concentrates on the Aegean, Mediterranean, and Marmara coasts. According to the Turkish Coast Guard Command, a total of 490 irregular migrants lost their lives while illegally trying to cross into European countries in 2015, 2016, and the first months of 2017. This picture makes it necessary to address the human dimension of irregular migration from a broader perspective. While coping with irregular migration, policies should be developed by keeping the human dimension of the subject in mind through investigating the causes that drive migrants to irregular migration. In parallel with this, fighting against human smugglers is indispensable. At this point, social work profession, which has to take an active role in the field of migration, must be maintained by improving its practices on the basis of human rights. While working with irregular migrants, social workers must stay away from stigmatizing and judicial attitudes and advocate for the protection of the human rights of these migrants.

Amaç: Bu çalışmada Suriyeli sığınmacıların fiziksel sağlık algılarını belirlemek ve bu algı düzeylerinin çeşitli sosyo-demografik özelliklere (cinsiyet, yaş, medeni durum, eğitim durumu, aylık gelir) göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğini incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmanın evrenini Kilis il merkezinde yaşayan ve Türkçe konuşabilen 18 yaş ve üzerindeki Suriye uyruklu bireyler oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın verileri, 2 Nisan-7 Mayıs 2018 tarihleri arasında araştırmacılar tarafından 413 kişiye anket uygulanarak toplanmıştır. Çalışmada katılımcıların fiziksel sağlık durumunu değerlendirmek için Schat vd. (2005) tarafından geliştirilen, 14 ifadeden ve 4 alt boyuttan oluşan " Fiziksel Sağlık Ölçeği " kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde ise SPSS 21,0 programından yararlanılmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre; Suriyelilerin fiziksel sağlık alt boyutlarından en yüksek puanı baş ağrıları alt boyutuna, en düşük puanı ise sindirim sistemi problemleri alt boyutuna verdikleri belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca çalışmada katılımcıların cinsiyetlerine göre uyku bozukluğu, baş ağrıları, sindirim sistemi bozuklukları alt boyutlarında anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilirken; yaşlarına göre sadece solunum yolu enfeksiyonları alt boyutunda anlamlı farklılıklar olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç: Suriyeli sığınmacıların fiziksel sağlık algılarını ve sağlık durumlarını geliştirebilmek için; sığınmacılara sunulan genel kapsamlı ve sağlık okuryazarlığına yönelik eğitim faaliyetlerinin doktor, hemşire gibi birebir fiziksel sağlık alanında çalışan meslek elemanları tarafından verilmesinin uygun olacağı düşünülmektedir. Abstract
Introduction: This research aims to determine Syrian asylum seekers' physical health perceptions' and also aims to assess if their perception differ in terms of socio-demographic features (gender, age, marital stasus, education level, monthly income). Methods: The universe of the research is consist of all Syrians who are able to speak in Turkish and 18 age and over. The research data gathered by the researchers on 413 participants between the dates 2 April-7 May 2018. To assess the physical health perceptions of participants " Physical Health Scale " which is consisted of 14 statements and 4 dimensions and developed by Schat et al. (2005) is used. SPSS 21.0 is used to analyze the data. Results: According to results of the study, it was determined that the Syrians obtained the highest score from headache dimension and the lowest score from gastrointestinal problems. In addition, while there were significant differences in the sleep disturbances, headaches, and gastrointestinal problem subscales according to the gender of participants in the study, significant differences were found only in the sub-dimension of respiratory infections according to their age. Conclusion: In order to improve the physical health perceptions and health conditions of Syrian asylum seekers; it is considered appropriate to provide that general and health literacy trainings for asylum seekers by professionals working in the field of physical health such as doctors and nurses.
Amaç: Bu çalışmada Suriyeli sığınmacıların fiziksel sağlık algılarını belirlemek ve bu algı düzeylerinin çeşitli sosyo-demografik özelliklere (cinsiyet, yaş, medeni durum, eğitim durumu, aylık gelir) göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğini incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmanın evrenini Kilis il merkezinde yaşayan ve Türkçe konuşabilen 18 yaş ve üzerindeki Suriye uyruklu bireyler oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın verileri, 2 Nisan-7 Mayıs 2018 tarihleri arasında araştırmacılar tarafından 413 kişiye anket uygulanarak toplanmıştır. Çalışmada katılımcıların fiziksel sağlık durumunu değerlendirmek için Schat vd. (2005) tarafından geliştirilen, 14 ifadeden ve 4 alt boyuttan oluşan " Fiziksel Sağlık Ölçeği " kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde ise SPSS 21,0 programından yararlanılmıştır. The aim of this study is to examine the behavior of drug use in aged 65 and over and to determine whether their socio-demographic characteristics are effective on drug use behaviors. The universe of this study is composed of participants being 65 years old and over who live in Burdur province center (N=12.378). In the study, totally 479 questionnaires were implemented. The data were collected from questionnaires by the researchers between February 12-25, 2018. Descriptive statistics, independent sample t test and one way analysis of variance (Anova) were used in the analysis of the data. According to the results obtained by the study, it was determined that participants' drug use behaviors were moderate. There was also a significant difference between drug use behaviors according to participants' incomes, it was determined that drug use behaviors of the participants whose income was 2000 TL or more were higher. İn order to develop appropriate drug use behaviours, it is important to conduct training an information studies from the moment the medicines are prescribed. Öz: Bu çalışmanın amacı, 65 yaş ve üstü bireylerin ilaç kullanımına ilişkin davranışlarını incelemek ve sosyo-demografik özelliklerin ilaç kullanım davranışları üzerinde etkili olup olmadığını ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmanın evrenini Burdur il merkezinde yaşayan 65 yaş ve üzeri bireyler oluşturmaktadır (N=12.378). Çalışmada toplam 479 kişiye anket uygulanmıştır. Veriler anket aracılığıyla araştırmacılar tarafından 12-25 Şubat 2018 tarihleri arasında toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, bağımsız örneklem t testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi (Anova) kullanılmıştır. Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, katılımcıların ilaç kullanım davranışlarının orta düzeyde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Katılımcıların gelirlerine göre ilaç kullanım davranışları arasında anlamlı fark bulunmuş, geliri 2000 TL ve üstü olan katılımcıların ilaç kullanım davranışlarının daha yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Uygun ilaç kullanım davranışlarının geliştirilmesi için ilaçların reçete edildiği andan itibaren eğitim ve bilgilendirme çalışmalarının yapılması önemlidir.
